Free Mattresses for Hurricane VictimsStrobel announces a program to get free mattresses to hurricane victims. Other agencies will provide basic needs such as food, water, and shelter. Once a person has shelter, the most important furnishing in a home is a comfortable mattress. Strobel will provide a free comfortable mattress to hurricane victims who have no insurance and are lower income. These victims will receive Strobel’s most popular model, the Supple-Pedic 4500. This model features 4.5 inches of Polyfilax, Strobel’s unique formulation of Memory Foam, along with their Patented “Lever Support System.” This mattress is the newest technology and is state of the art. It provides 90% less tossing and turning, proven best back support, and clinically proven better sleep. M.D.’s and Chiropractors agree … Supple-Pedic is Best. These poor people who have had their lives shattered by the hurricane will get a luxurious mattress that they would otherwise not be able to afford. In this trying time these people will get greater comfort, reduced stress, and better sleep. Program Full. We want to thank the Red Cross and the News Media for referring so many qualified applicants and nominees. We have already received more applications for free mattresses than we are likely to be able to fill. You are still welcome to apply or nominate, but we don't want you to get your hopes up. Victims can apply for their free mattress by clicking here. You can also nominate people in need to receive a free mattress by clicking here. Strobel and their dealers are funding this program by donating a portion of their proceeds from Supple-Pedic mattresses. Anyone buying a Supple-Pedic is effectively contributing to this fund
Victims Stories, from applications or nominations for free beds:
She is 84 years old and lives in low income
housing. so far she has spent 6 days with no power, water, refrigerator
being out has caused lost of food. She is dependant on housing authority and
red cross to get her food, water and ice due to heat. As soon as the sun
goes down she is in the dark. It would be really wonderful if she could find
peace when she goes to bed. The mattress she has is over 40 years old.
Please help her to have a good night's rest. THANK YOU Christy Motley
is a nurse who is working around the clock on the hurricane team at Ocean
Springs Hospital. Her home sustained over 5 feet of water in it and all of
her possessions were destroyed. Shellie is my
sister. She has 3 young children, they lost everything in the storm. Like
many on the coast, they do not have flood insurance. No one ever expected
anything quite like this. Everyone deserves a free mattress. A lot of people
down there are in great need. I commend what you are doing. I hope you are
able to share the spirit of giving with as many people as possible. I am 7 months
pregnant with my second child and have a one year old child. I lost
everything in Katrina because of the levee break and massive flooding. I
have no home, no possessions and my husband lost his employment and I am not
sure if I will have a job. We only have the clothes on our backs but we are
trying to secure housing in a city outside of Baton Rouge. The rent charged
will take up the vast majority of our disposable income because
unfortunately property managers are charging $1500-$2500 a month for rent. I
would greatly appreciate being considered for a free mattress as I have no
money for furniture. We are good, honest, hardworking people and appreciate
your consideration. Even if we are not selected, we would like to thank your
company and employees for your good will and generosity. I am requesting
a king-size because my two sons sleep with me and the seal around the window
leaked the rain from the hurricane onto our old king-sized mattress. My
other son sleeps with my mother and those two are the only mattresses we
have in the house. Ms. Haydel is an
elderly widow with no family. Her home was flooded and she has no flood
insurance. It would be a huge help for her to have a mattress to sleep on.
Thanks for helping those in need! We had two beds
in our home and both of them were destroyed during Katrina. Our roof was
severely damaged and our home was flooded. My wife's place of employment was
also destroyed and we are unable to contact them. Just knowing that there
are people out there who care and want to help makes these trying times much
easier to accept. This is a wonderful, generous thing that your company is
doing and we are most grateful. I was living in
New Orleans for 19 years, and I lost everything during the hurricane
KATRINA, I appreciate your contribution and God bless you. Thank you so
much.
